The Department of City Planning and Councilmember Julie Won are working with community members and organizations to plan for a more equitable and resilient Long Island City, with more housing and jobs, and enhanced infrastructure and public space.

Scoping Meeting

A Scoping Meeting was held August 12, 2024, providing the public an opportunity to comment on the environmental review, including recommendations on what should be included in the analysis.

Develop Capital, Program, and Service investments
Current

The City and community work together to develop a package of policy changes, capital projects and programs & services to support the neighborhood.

Publish Draft Neighborhood Plan
Upcoming

A Draft Neighborhood Plan will be made available for the public to see the latest zoning proposal, as well as updates on policy changes, capital projects, and programs & services.

Uniform Land Use Review Procedure
Upcoming

The Uniform Land Use Review Procedure, known as ULURP, will begin. During this time Community Boards, the Borough President, the City Planning Commission, and the City Council will all weigh in on the zoning framework, hear public testimony, discuss potential commitments. 

Publish Neighborhood Plan

The Neighborhood Plan will be finalized and published. It will include a set of capital, program, and service commitments, as well as policy changes.
